This application, designed exclusively for iPad, serves professionals who require on-the-go invoicing capabilities. It is particularly suited for individuals such as handymen, independent computer technicians, lawn maintenance specialists, and others who traditionally rely on blank invoice pads from office supply stores. This app eliminates the need for constant reordering by providing a comprehensive digital invoicing solution.

It is AirPrint enabled, facilitating seamless printing of invoices directly from your device.

It is important to note that we offer a separate invoicing application tailored for sales transactions. Please review the product description carefully prior to purchase to ensure it meets your specific needs.

SETTING UP COMPANY INFORMATION: Upon launching the app, the initial step is to input your company details. Tap on “Change Defaults,” input your information, then press “Save.” This data will automatically appear on each new invoice. You may modify this information at any time by returning to the “Change Defaults” section.

EDITING DEFAULTS: The following fields are editable: Company Name, Company Slogan, Address 1, Address 2, Phone Number, Fax Number (or alternatively your website or email address), Invoice Number, and two Company Policy statements. After editing, select “Save” to apply changes. Note that updates to company information will be reflected only on subsequent invoices.

ADDING A LOGO: Your logo file should be named “logo.png,” using lowercase letters and in PNG format. If unfamiliar with logo formatting or if adjustments are needed, consult a graphics professional. Logos are best at approximately 100 x 100 pixels. If you prefer, the default logo can be used.

To upload your logo, connect your iOS device to a computer and open iTunes. Select your device from the sidebar, click on “Apps,” scroll down to the “File Sharing” section, and choose “Simple Invoices.” Click “Add,” select your “logo.png” file, and confirm overwrite when prompted.

CREATING A NEW INVOICE: Tap the “New” button to initiate an invoice entry. Fill in customer details and optional “For” information. Enter item descriptions, hours worked, and rates; the application will automatically calculate totals.

USING YOUR iOS ADDRESS BOOK: Tap on the “Address” button next to “To” to access your contacts. Selecting a contact will auto-fill customer information from your address book.

Once completed, tap “Save” to finalize the invoice. You can then email a copy directly from within the app to provide your customer with a digital record—reducing issues caused by illegible handwriting.

Managing multiple invoices is simplified through the “Next” and “Previous” buttons, allowing easy navigation between entries when multiple invoices are stored. These controls are inactive during invoice creation or editing processes.

To modify an existing invoice, navigate to it and tap "Edit." All data fields except invoice number and company details can be modified. After changes are made, tap “Save.”

The app supports iTunes file sharing for data management. Connect your device to a computer with iTunes installed:

• To back up your invoices: Select your device, go to “Apps,” locate “Simple Invoices” in the File Sharing section, right-click on invoice.sql, and select “Save As.” Store this backup securely.
• To restore data: Use iTunes’ “Add” function within the File Sharing area to replace the current invoice.sql file with your backup.

Please note that the core structure of the invoice—specifically labels such as description, hours, and rates—is fixed and cannot be modified.

All data is stored securely within a SQLite database format.
